About
Omki is an imprint of the Om Shiatsu
Centre and serves as the publishing
vehicle for Veet Allan’s work. This
website is intended to give information
on the Omki published books and some
of Veet's unpublished projects.
Veet developed an interest in Eastern
arts and philosophies whilst working as a
construction surveyor during the
seventies. These influences pervade his
illustrative work to this day. Particularly,
the medical and philosophical concepts of
early China, the artistic nature of
Chinese pictographs and the work of the
Scottish architect and designer Charles
Rennie Mackintosh (1868-1928)
respectfully.
Following an introduction to the healing
discipline of Zen Shiatsu and the famous
Iokai meridian chart in 1980. Veet
commenced his professional Shiatsu
studies proper in Glasgow from 1987 and
until 2004 he was a registered
practitioner, teacher and assessor of the
Shiatsu Society of the United Kingdom.
He founded and directed the Om (Omki)
Shiatsu Centre from 1992 until its
closure in 2004. His first book ‘Ocean of
Streams’ was published in 1994 and a
